Are We Hiding Hatred With Lying Lips?

Proverbs 10:18- He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.
Proverbs 26:24-26- He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him; When he speaketh fair, believe him not: for there are seven abominations in his heart. Whose hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shewed before the whole congregation.

While away from blogging and healing, the Holy Spirit it appears led me to read a lot about the heart’s condition; both mine and others. I just could not and can’t get over how hatred runs so rampant among us. Thank you Holy Spirit! As many times as I have read the above scriptures, I missed an understanding about hiding hatred with lying lips. What came to my mind is that a lot of us hide hatred behind Religion and Christianity.

Most of us simply hide behind God (reading the bible, memorizing, quoting, and preaching scripture) while claiming at the same time to be doers of His word when our behavior toward others speak differently. This is “wretched, but true” as my grandson Elijah would say. As Believer’s we can and will do better, right?  Yes we can and Yes we will, because of God’s grace. Where does God look when He looks at us? Where does hatred lie dormant? Yep! You’ve got it.  He looks in and it lies dormant in the HEART.

The other thing we do is lie to ourselves about loving God when we have the smallest bit of animosity toward others. We are again hiding “hatred with lying lips.” 1 John 4:20 clearly calls us out on that shame:

“If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?”

As Believers’ in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, we should REMEMBER three things hiding hatred does:

  1. Hatred dissembles (misleads) others and the people of God with lying lips.
  2. Hatred causes others and the people of God to be deceitful from within.
  3. Hatred isn’t just one abomination in our heart; it is “seven abominations…” (Whoa! I missed knowing that over the years. TYHS!)

May we all ask of the Holy Spirit’s conviction within us as we meditate on these verses:

(1 John 3:9-10)- Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
(Matthew 5:43-47) Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.  But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?  And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
(Psalm 119:104)-Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.
(1 John 3:15)-Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. (Ding! Ding!)

The conclusion of the matter is this- To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men. (Titus 3:2) When we practice this daily using a repentant heart, we can stop being one who “hideth hatred with lying lips…”

Furthermore, beloved, hatred is a sin that puts us OUT OF FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD.  Hatred is 360 degrees in the opposite direction of love; and God is Love.

What is the effect of hatred vs. love? Hatred stirreth up strifes:(not one strife but many) but love covereth all sins(not one sin, but all). (Proverbs 10:12)

Bring in the New Year abundantly filled with LOVE for others. Cover the sin of Hatred.

Are You Keeping Your Heart With All Diligence?

Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

As I was reading over this verse, a lot of things came to mind about the power the heart has. When it stops beating and pumping blood, out of it flows life as we have lived it. When it is beating and pumping blood, out of it flow the issues of life. That is so fascinating to me…the things that go into and out of the heart. Most of us don’t give the flow much thought or else we would have lived or live our lives per the Proverbs verse above. In essence, we tend to forget that the mouth plays a big role in the flow.

Even though we freely make decisions and act upon what’s in our heart, do we even ponder deeply about the fact that God has total control over our hearts? When He sees the need to step in to suit His purpose, He does. Remember the issues with Pharaoh?

Exodus 4:21- And the Lord said unto Moses, When thou goest to return into Egypt, see that thou do all those wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in thine hand: but I will harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.

AND His people

Jeremiah 32:40- “….And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.

Now darlings…We all know from personal experience and from watching others that these two things are the truth and nothing but the truth about the issues that flow from the heart per the Believers’ Lord and Savior:

  • “But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:”-(Matthew 15:18-19)
  • God said, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9)

Some may ask God… then why should we keep our heart with all diligence since it is “deceitful?” Snoopy has a point too, but I found the answer here: Psalm 51: 6 -Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. The heart is very valuable to God. It is how we connect with Him and others. Truth, Truth, Truth is what He desires. If our heart is true, it is there that we can have peace concerning the issues that flow out.

One last thing beloved readers…Be aware. The heart is ALWAYS under attack. Solomon alluded to this fact in the books of Kings and Proverbs. He would know best per his experiences, which is why he has shared this “to do” information about protecting(keeping) the heart. The reason we get hurt by others and hurt others is because we do not keep a diligent watch over, nor do we place a high enough value on the heart.

When we keep things that we value, what do we do? We find strength and joy in those things, we care for and even ask others to help us in caring for those things, sometimes we share them with others according to its value, and we protect those things with all our might. Soooo…Why is it then, that we are such failures at keeping the heart with the same diligence as we do things? You’ll have to discover the true reason that you don’t.

Shouldn’t we be a people who place more value on the heart than on things?

This is why I believe that all Believers’ should be diligent about asking in every prayer “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10) I can tell you from experience that when God is cleaning the heart, it takes time. The more you work at diligently protecting it, the quicker God works on the cleaning. Some may not like the changes you make. Don’t worry about them, concentrate on the fact that God is looking at the strides you are making to keep your heart in line with His will. People will disappoint you all the time. Knowing the value of your heart is the first step.

John Flavel stated “The state of the whole body depends upon the soundness and vigour of the heart, and the everlasting state of the whole man upon the good or ill condition of the soul.”

Conclusion-Therefore it is prudent that you “Keep thy heart with all diligence” beloved because “….the Lord looketh on the heart…” (1 Samuel 16:7)

Merry Christmas and Have a Happy New Year

Purity – God’s Milk w/o the Additives & Percentages – Matthew 5:8

“Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.”

Pure- (adj.) (1): unmixed with any other matter (2): free from dust, dirt, or taint (3): spotless, stainless b: free from harshness or roughness and being in tune —used of a musical tone: being thus and no other: sheer, unmitigated: free from what vitiates, weakens, or pollutes: containing nothing that does not properly belong: having exactly the talents or skills needed for a particular role

What is the first thing that comes to mind when you see the word pure? With all that have gone on and is still going on since Adam and Eve were removed from the Garden of Eden, do you believe that anything pure exists in this world? Speaking of that-Purity milk is my favorite brand of milk. I was in the grocery store and noticed that there were several kinds of milk, for example, 0 % plus, 1 %, 2%, low fat, reduced fat, fat free, whole, and skim. I don’t know why I never noticed that before until reading this verse before going grocery shopping. Remember that old campaign slogan- “Got Milk?”

Got Heart? Are we conscious of the fact that God is concerned about our heart? Are you concerned about your heart? One more question- Why would a Holy God want to SEE a filthy heart in His kingdom? (TYHS)

It is my thought that the reason we have so much guilt, murders, hatred, idolatry, false sexual preferences, fake messengers, and fake churches is because of an unclean heart. So much filth comes from an unclean heart. (Mark 7:20-23)

The Word of God is being polluted with additives by those who have an unclean heart.

heart cleanseBeloved, we need to become dead serious about the pureness of our hearts. How do we do that? The first step – We must be born again spiritually involving water and the Spirit of God. Read John 3:3-6. Take note of verse 6 “… but the Spirit gives birth to the spirit…” In a physical birth we are an embryo growing in a sac of water awaiting our birth. You are the spirit. God is the Spirit that gives life to you. The Spirit is pure. The second step- We must clean ourselves from the inside, removing all additives and whatever percentage of impurities in the heart that is not in alignment with God. We must walk in the light or as Papaw used to say “…straighten up and fly right and own your flight.”(1 John 1:7)

Now let us go here to Matthew 23:24-27. Jesus spoke of 7 woes in this chapter. I was attentive to these two woes in relationship to the word pure. (TYHS) Now you be attentive to the underlined words when using a dishwasher.

Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter that the outside of them may be clean also. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.

Ergo the adage, “Beauty is only skin deep.”  😛

purity 1As Christians, we cannot be full of additives and be 0% plus, 1 %, 2%, low fat, reduced fat, fat- free, nor skim milk drinkers when it comes to the Word of God. We must drink 100% pure whole milk when it comes to His word and our hearts. When God looks at our heart, let our hearts display purity without the additives and the percentages of filth. We must not be like the scribes and Pharisees, who obviously did not know how to wash dishes. We have always been a nation hung upon changing the outside first and trying to change things outside of the human dominion. When will purity 2    we get that ALL matters and actions are derivations from the HEART? If the heart was pure, can you imagine how much better this world would be? Let us become wise in knowing that a pure heart is a precondition to being in His presence. A pure heart is needed to see God. (Matthew 5:8)The day that you hear Him, you MUST harden not your heart.

Wisdom from the Holy Scriptures:

1 Samuel 16:7 -But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.

Isaiah 52:11-Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the Lord.

James 4:8 -Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

Isaiah 1:15-17-And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

Hebrews 3:7-8– Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

Psalm 24:3-4Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

Proverbs 23:26 -My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.

My 100% advice- Go ahead! Try some Purity – God’s Milk w/o the Additives & Percentages. I always pray Psalm 51 when I am experiencing heart dehydration. You may also incorporate others name in the prayer that may be experiencing heart dehydration. Let thou heart be thus and no other.

Bottoms Up! Alla tua salute! Rathima andu atene! Gan bei! & L’chaim!
