NOT PERFECT, BUT WILLING, GOD’S DETERMINATION- MY THOUGHTS

There are so many stories about people in the bible who were not perfect, but willing and determined. We are a people today….not perfect, but willing and some not so willing.  However my subject focus will be on those that are not perfect, but willing and God’s determination.

I believe the heart is the foundation of our will and it is the main organ that contributes to our attitudinal behaviors, along with our minds. There are a lot of us who will not admit to others “I’m not perfect”, even though it is evident in our lives so much so like that of a whale swimming in one of those kiddie blow up pools sitting in the kitchen sink. Now that’s a site for sore eyes that can’t be missed!  😛  😛

While reading this, keep this very statement in mind: God knows our heart and He too knows it is not perfect. Now allow me to present a few bible verses to confirm my belief.

1 Chronicles 28:9– “And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.”

Hebrews 4:13-14– For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

Jeremiah 17:9-10– The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?  “I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct,
according to what their deeds deserve.”

Acts 1:24-Then they prayed, “Lord, you know everyone’s heart. Show us which of these two you have chosen

Romans 8:27-And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.

This blog is just a reminder that we are not perfect and it is ultimately God’s will for us to become so. I’ve listed a few people of the bible below, who were not perfect, but willing and once willing became determined. These are people who had to humble themselves to be willing.  While thinking of these people, I ask that you think about yourself and others, focusing on just how loving, powerful and all-knowing He really is from the beginning of the bible to the end. I want you to think about how willing  and determined are you to do the Lord’s will?

It took me some time to let it soak deep into my marrow that God knows I’m not perfect and that He loves me in spite of me regardless of what anyone else say or think. SIN is like a chess piece in the mind moving here and there making you doubt how much God loves you. In order for anything to change in anyone’s life, that person has to be willing.

I’ve come to realize that old adage…….. “I’m set in my ways” is the most selfish attitude, excuse, and worthless thought, that anyone utters from their lips.  Go ahead! get upset, that’s how I feel about people when they make that statement.    😦   I would kick myself even if I perhaps happen to utter those 5 miserable words. What in the world do you think God can do with a “set in my ways” determined person? He’ll leave you to your own to be setting in your ways like the fallen star in the lake of fire.  Now we ALL know the story of that fallen star that was so determined to stay set in his ways walking to and fro on the earth, never restless, causing havoc, and tempting all. We need to be more set in Jesus’ ways. That will cure the “ME” syndrome.

MR900437797

Well! Well! lookie here.  What does God tell us in the Book of Isaiah?

Isaiah 55:8-9 (KJV)

8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways”, saith the Lord.

9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

God have always been determined to return us back to perfection as things were before Adam and Eve sinned. If you haven’t already, you can read all the examples in the bible of a hard headed, hard hearted, and set in their ways nation.

If nothing else, that proves to us all, just how patient and loving He really is. He is THE GREAT FATHER that truly loves His children. His determination is a great lesson and reminder for us as earthly parents and all people. He is determined for you, for me, and for all of those who come to Him through Jesus to be permanent inheritors of His Kingdom, forever.

The Power Of Faith- My Thoughts

Full of Christ

Wow! November is almost over. This year has flown by as time normally fly in and out each blessed given day. I was reading my Seeking God study plan tonight from the Book of Matthew, Chapter 9.  I was slapped outta the wild dark sky with full moon light, the Faith Spirit took over. Thank you Jesus!

It’s amazing how I find and/or how we find things that have been there all along, even after reading it over and over again. We have to be totally engulfed in the Spirit to know its true meaning and how it applies to one’s life, when diving and swimming into the Word of God. The Bible, duh!  I felt like a red shiny apple thrown into a warm melted bowl of caramel, just covering me all over, ready for eating enjoyment when reading these scripture reminders about FAITH.  For the love of Christ, let’s call it the wisdom growth stage that we experience as we crawl, walk, run, jump, climb, and swim more with Him.

Ok, ok, so I was reading about FAITH. And it occurred to me, that FAITH is a thing very powerful, dominant, governing, and prevailing. Lord, have mercy Jesus, what a noun!  Nouns are a person, place, or thing….correct? Before I go a ranting, let’s just look at the definition of FAITH for faith’s sake.

faith n.

1. Confident belief in the truth, value, or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing.

2. Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence. See Synonyms at belief, trust.

3. Loyalty to a person or thing; allegiance: keeping faith with one’s supporters.

4. often Faith Christianity The theological virtue defined as secure belief in God and a trusting acceptance of God’s will.

Here we go now!

In Matthew 9:18-33, we read about 4 beautifully written episodes of faith. I’ll just break it down here.

  1.  The woman with the issue of bleeding for 12 years. What did she do? Reached out and touched in FAITH and was healed at that very moment. Let’s shout it together.  FAITH IS POWERFUL.
  2. The synagogue leader who went to Jesus and said “My daughter has just died, But come and put your hand on her, and she will live.”  What did the leader do? He believed before taking Jesus to his daughter. Shout! FAITH IS GOVERNING.
  3. The two blind men following Him, just a calling out for Him to have mercy on them. They went in behind closed doors and (watch this) Jesus asked them “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” What did they say? “YES LORD.” Shout it on out! FAITH IS PREVAILING.
  4. While the two newly bright eyed and joyful tattlers were going out, someone brought in a man who was demon-possessed AND could not talk, to see Jesus. Hold on beloved to that horsey bridle!  Here is the wild ride. (a)He can’t speak to tell Jesus what he desires. (b)He is possessed by a dominating demon.(c) He is face to face with Jesus…..he is no longer possessed by a demon AND he can speak. Shout it out! AND “Ride like the wind Bullseye!” (Woody from Toy Story) FAITH IS DOMINANT.

Ride like the wind Bullseye!

In these 4 events I’ve chosen, I hope you noticed as I did with the help of the Holy Spirit, these individuals either came to Jesus or Jesus was taken to the place after being sought out. You have to have faith in Him in order for Him to be pleased. Why would anyone do anything for you if they were not pleased with you in a Christ like manner? Think on it! <————–ITALICIZED BOLD  IS HERE   🙂

And here’s moi summary which proves 2 major FACT’S about FAITH from that author unknown who brews and also knew a lot about FAITH.  If you need a reminder on the lesson of Faith, read the entire Book of Hebrews.

1.      Hebrews 11:1-Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

2.      Hebrews 11:6-But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Now, my faithful and faith believing beloved one’s, skip back up to my words in italicized bold.  Do you see where I’m coming from by presenting these two FACT finding scriptures about FAITH?

Aside from it being the will of God, because of their FAITH in Him, Jesus was able to heal a sick woman, raise a dead girl, heal two blind men, and cast out a demon and He gave a mute man the gift of speech. He must have been giving a 2 for 1 special for the demon possessed one on that day. His faith must have been immeasurable.  I’m sure it wasn’t like  “Black Friday” after Thanksgiving.  😛

And might I add FAITH is a protective coating for us. It is a part of the whole/full armor of God. Let’s read about it:

  • 1 Thessalonians 5:8 (NIV)-But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.
  • Ephesians 6:10-18 (NIV)——-The Armor of God

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Closing It!  🙂  😛

FAITH PLAYS A BIG PART IN MAKING IT TO THE HOLY CITY THAT’S A COMING DOWN! That’s my belief. Keep The Faith! It’s your JOY in the Lord. It’s your SHIELD.

Never, ever, ever, let anyone steal YOUR JOY and DON’T you take JOY away from others.

LOVE COVERS A MULTITUDE OF SINS

Saying The Right Words – My Thoughts

Thank you Holy Spirit!  I was studying my “Wisdom Study Plan” tonight. The plan for the day were, three chapters from the Book Of Job….. Chapters 4, 5, and 6.  I never thought of the book as being a wisdom guide until the last three days of studying it. It is a great feeling to study and spend time with God over and over again with the same stories.  Those milk stories turn into meat stories as you grow in faith and love for Him. As I was studying again in Chapter 6, I started thinking, oh Lord, that Job is full of questions and answers, and feisty in the Lord with his words, like I am at times. I was also thinking that he and his friends must have been very close to talk to each other that long. Phew! talk about long winded. How many of us will sit with a friend nowadays for more than an hour or two to carry on a conversation without looking dumbfounded or speechless? Not many, I don’t think.

Any who!  After Eliphaz had his say without catching his breath, I came to verses 25 thru 27, with special attention to verse 25.. Whoa! Hold on horsey! I was thrown off my horse.

Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Horsey!

Chapter 6 begins with Job’s response to his friend Eliphaz. Let me share the verses here.  “How forceful are right words!   But what do your arguments prove? Do you intend to rebuke my words, And the speeches of a desperate one, which are as wind?  Yes, you overwhelm the fatherless, And you undermine your friend.”

Job’s firm statement and question led me along with the Holy Spirit to write this quick message for sharing. I’ll try to make it short. 🙂

Have you ever really thought about how forceful it is to say the right words? Have you ever thought about in day to day situations, and at the end of the day if you have been in an argument, what did the argument prove? Have you ever thought about what is ever accomplished when you are forced to say the right words and/or prove a point because of an argument?-Thought Candy!

When we know in our being without a doubt we have not the right words to say, this is a moment  for us to meditate quietly before opening our yapper and think to self, ‘well self  they say’ “Silence Is Golden. We’ve all experienced a moment with friends, family members, and others when they are grief stricken, hurt by someone or some other event, where it is hard for most to find the right thing to say. It’s even harder, if that person snaps back at you when you’ve felt you said the right thing. For most that turns into an argument unless you just walk away. Saying the wrong things can also put distance between you and another.

…. see! sometimes I know when to keep my mouth shut.

Zip It!

For me there are one or more of four things I say and absolutely mean from my heart when one is sad or grieving:

  • I’m sorry for your pain.
  • I will be in prayer for you.
  • If you need me, you call me.
  • Jesus loves you and I love you.

What I am trying to convey is that through ordeals, sometimes you just let go and let God. A loving hug; an “I’m sorry”; an “I’m here for you”; and/or a “trust in the Lord and be strong” will suffice. If you really don’t know what to say, just hold the person and pray quietly to self for them. This, my loves is where SILENCE is very golden and actions speaks louder than words.  Even though we are experiencing sadness for that person, we need to go outside of self in such moments and just rely on God’s still voice. Because believe it or not, Job hit on the truth with his statement “How forceful are right words!” Sometimes we ramble on until we say the wrong thing which is more hurtful and doesn’t make sense in the end.  What’s that saying, “talking out the side of your neck”?

I shall close here with the message. May you be blessed and say the right things to others in need when the Lord prepares your heart and mind to say them. Otherwise, sit quietly and wait upon the Lord. May you too find some wisdom when studying the Book of Job as I did tonight.  I now understand why it is a book filled with wisdom and whoever prepared the lesson plan online did a wonderful job. I am now wise in knowing that words are indeed like the wind and the wrong words (per Job, “desperate words”) are like undermining another when that person has a personal relationship with God.

Love Covers A Multitude of Sins

Quotes About Humility :-)

Allow me to share the word of the song with you, so you can sing along with me or on your own.  Absolutely no singing off key, sing with the Spirit, ok? Let’s go! Ah 1, 2, and a 3…Hit it!

There is a Name I love to hear, I love to sing its worth; It sounds like music in my ear, The sweetest Name on earth. It tells me of a Savior’s love, Who died to set me free; It tells me of His precious blood, The sinner’s perfect plea.

  • Refrain: Oh, how I love Jesus, Oh, how I love Jesus, Oh, how I love Jesus, Because He first loved me!

It tells me of a Father’s smile Beaming upon His child; It cheers me through this little while, Through desert, waste, and wild.

It tells me what my Father hath In store for every day, And though I tread a darksome path, Yields sunshine all the way.

It tells of One whose loving heart Can feel my deepest woe; Who in each sorrow bears a part That none can bear below.

It bids my trembling heart rejoice; It dries each rising tear; It tells me, in a “still small voice,” To trust and never fear.

Jesus, the Name I love so well, The Name I love to hear: No saint on earth its worth can tell, No heart conceive how dear.

This Name shall shed its fragrance still Along this thorny road, Shall sweetly smooth the rugged hill That leads me up to God.

And there with all the blood-bought throng, From sin and sorrow free, I’ll sing the new eternal song Of Jesus’ love for me.

*********JESUS LOVES YOU**********

Now if I could just whip others into the stage….LOL  😛  😛   Enjoy the quotes below, and pay close attention to the blessing for you at the end.

And Now Our Bible Verses On Humility 🙂

JOB 22:29 When men are brought low and you say, ‘Lift them up!’ then he  will save the downcast.

Psalm 138:6 Though the LORD is on high, he looks upon the lowly, but the proud  he knows from afar.

Proverbs 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

Proverbs 10:8 The wise in heart accept commands, but a chattering fool comes to ruin.

Proverbs 15:33 The fear of the LORD teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor.

Proverbs 22:4  Humility and the fear of the LORD bring wealth and honor and life.

Ecclesiastes 5:2  Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few.

Isaiah 29:19 Once more the humble will rejoice in the LORD; the needy will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

Isaiah 51:1″Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness and who seek the LORD: Look to the rock from which you were cut and to the quarry from which you were hewn; (AMEN ,AMEN, and AMEN….This works as long as you know the ROCK!)

John 13:14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. (Now this is real  act of HUMILITY…wouldn’t you have loved Jesus’ hands to just touch you, much less wash your feet.  Our God is NOT just “An awesome God”.  He is ‘The Awesome God’)

1 Corinthians 3:18– Do not deceive yourselves. If any one of you thinks he is wise by the standards of this age, he should become a “fool” so that he may become wise.

*****************************************************************************************

Most importantly my lovely ones, let us keep this in mind, on the heart, and put into action at all times:

Philippians 2 Verses 1-11  Imitating Christ’s Humility

Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion,  then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.  Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,  not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.  In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:  Who, being in very nature God,  did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;  rather, he made himself nothing  by taking the very  nature of a servant,  being made in human likeness.  And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,  in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

We Are All Different (We Will Make a Difference)

Today is Saturday, October 27, 2012. Praise the Lord! I am happy to be back to share my thoughts.

First, my testimony…Allow me to share. I woke up this morning and the first words out of my mouth were “Thank You Jesus!” I looked over at my clock to see what time it was, and I said “Lord have mercy, I only slept for four hours and I’m still healing”.

See …God is Good.

I prayed and I began reading my WordPress sites that I follow and I was even more blessed. I accidentally hit the cd tray on my laptop while moving it around …it startled me a bit,( I forgot where that CD was) my praise CD that I made began playing and the first song words were  “Lord whatever you doing in this season, don’t do it without me”, then  came –“After all I’ve been through I still have joy”, and then “you don’t know what it is to be free if you’ve never been bound…it’s gotta be rain in your  life to appreciate the sunshine.” I began crying, laughing, and praising His name. I love music and trust me, I can change any song into a worshipping song and dance like David before the Lord.  That’s my weirdly different gift amongst many.  🙂

And then I was reading here…… http://ptl2010.com/2012/10/27/go-ahead-just-do-it/(Enjoy)

Then I was instructed to hit the net for articles on the gifts of the Holy Spirit and came across this website and of course turned to wiki for more info.  ( I’m beginning to write like John in the book of Revelations…”And then”… LOL )

http://www.bible-knowledge.com/gifts-of-the-holy-spirit/#

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_gifts_of_the_Holy_Spirit

Now my testimony with the Holy Spirit as my guide sat me down to write this quick blog titled “We are All Different”.

We who are followers of Christ Jesus have one thing in common, we are all different.  We possess different abilities, yet we believe in God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit and our comforter. I just had a thought concerning multiplication tables. 1 x 3 = 3.  Are you with me?

We have yet to get on one accord with and in Christ. However, I believe with my heart and soul, we will get there. Press forward for the prize in Christ Jesus. You can do it!  I advise us all to continue in prayer to know what gift(s) the Lord has bestowed within us. And to work closely with the Holy Spirit to accomplish doing His will. Agree?

We have more work today with selves before trying to reach out and work with others, because of the gifts the Lord has given us since the day we were conceived. When we grasp what that gift is, meditate on it, praise it, love it,  perfect it in the name of Jesus, then we can go out and share that difference of the Lord within our being that we were blessed with from birth.

The Holy Spirit led me to 1 Corinthians 12:6-11.  Let me share the NIV version with you please.

There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work is my belief.

Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.  To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,  to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,  to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.  All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.

Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.

I want to say more on the matter, but the Holy Spirit is ordering me to stop here.  You see that last verse?  Read it again and again and again until YOU see what the Most Holy of All is saying to you. It begins and ends with God. We are the difference in the middle( the many parts).

Did I get my different gift across to you today? Thank you Holy Spirit!

Remember, even though we are all different, we will make a difference when blessed by the Holy Spirit. I repeat……We are all different and YES, we will make a difference when our actions, hearts, soul, and mind belong fully to the will of God Almighty forming ONE BODY in Christ Jesus.

Now this post is super super  super awesome, dont’ you agree?  I take no glory, I give it all to the Holy Spirit working in me this morning.

Love Covers A Multitude of Sins

Quotes I Love About Sin

It is so amazing that a little three letter word can cause such havoc in our lives and pull us away from doing what’s right in our heart and God’s will. For this reason, I want to share this post.  Sometimes preaching the word doesn’t get through to some, but when a person speaks on a level for one to understand, it can lead them to reading the word of God to prove that His word is true. This is where most quotes concerning subjects about the human race come in handy. And if you enjoy reading quotes, please read the Book of Proverbs.

I believe most quotes made by others derive from the book, and reworded for us to grasp the meaning that is more applicable to the level of our understanding the WORD. We grow daily in faith and belief as we dine in the Word of God.  God speaks to us in so many ways.  Open your minds, feel with your hearts, hear with your ears, and see with your eyes, just how FORGIVING  our Heavenly Father, Savior, and Protector is.  And since He freely forgives, let us also practice forgiving others and moving forward, onward, and upward, cause SIN will without a doubt will keep you under and have you feeling like a snake always crawling on its belly leaving skidmarks in the dust or wherever it roams.

Enjoy my loves!  Here is some Ling for your plate. Enjoy the meal and look up the definition of LING.  I happen to run across the word because I sinned in error of a typo and had to find out the meaning of my erroneous word.

  • He that falls into sin is a man; that grieves at it, is a  saint; that boasts of it, is a devil.
  • Sin is a viper that does always kill where it is not  killed.

Dorothee DeLuzy

  • Other men’s sins are before our eyes; our own are behind  our backs

Mahatma Ghandi

  •  Marriage is three parts sin and seven parts forgiveness of sins.

  • “I have no right, by anything I do or say, to demean a human being in his own eyes. What matters is not what I think of him; it is what he thinks of himself. To undermine a man’s self-respect is a sin.”

  • “Should we all confess our sins to one another we would all laugh at one another for our lack of originality”

  • “To sin is a human business, to justify sins is a devilish business.”

 Leo Nikolaevich Tolstoy

  • “Sin cannot tear you away from him (Christ), even though you commit adultery a hundred times a day and commit as many murders”

 Martin Luther

Wow, I have to refresh myself on Luther’s beliefs.

God’s mercy is so GREAT. It is so awesome how much He loves me, He loves Us.

Thank you Lord for the forgiveness of Sins.

To close this out I want to add in the words of Martin Luther

“I have held many things in my hands, and I have lost them all; but whatever I have placed in God’s hands, that I still possess”

 AMEN  AMEN  AMEN
